Township Offices — Candidates Endorsed by Springfield Township Democratic Committee

No Mayor for Springfield Township. Instead, we have a board of seven commissioners to conduct the business of the Township. Commissioners are elected by Ward for 4 year terms.

2025 Springfield Township Commissioner Candidates

Susie Ratsavong: Ward 2 Commissioner

Susie is an incumbent Ward 2 Commissioner, and has been serving Springfield Township responsively and conscientiously for the past three years. She lives in Wyndmoor and has a professional background in Law and Policy. She supports and challenges our township toward greater functional long term planning goals, from parks and recreation to improved administration.

Rob Goldberg:Ward 4 Commissioner

Rob is a resident in Erdenheim. He has a professional background in Web Production Management, Marketing, and Design at AG Strategic, a consultancy he co-founded. He has been an active community member in areas of interest inSpringfield Township, including traffic calming, human powered transit, park improvements and open space protection, communication and collaboration between the police and the community, and increased transparency of government actions and functions.

Thad Kirk:Ward 6 Commissioner

Thad is a resident in Oreland and a dedicated STDC Committee Person. He has been an active member in coordinated campaigns, Get-Out-The-Vote, and Election Day efforts, and assisted in developing the successful strike list effort for the 2024 general election. As an attorney with an office in Montgomery County, Thad brings lawsuits throughout the country to hold corporations accountable for negligence and for defective products that cause property damage.

2025 Springfield Township School Director Candidates

Lee Abberly

Lee is a resident in Wyndmoor and is an appointed member to the current School Board. She has a professional background in Bioanalysis and drug discovery and development atGlaxoSmithKline. She has served on the Springfield Township Parks and Recreation committee and the Walnut Ave Steering Committee. She has been actively involved in School Board meetings ensuring access to quality education for all children in Springfield Township. Lee is especially passionate about special education needs since her 7th grader has a disability and receives extensive supports and services from SDST. As a school board member, Lee is currently serving on the Policy committee, Academic Affairs committee and is the board representative on the Special Education Planning committee.

KD Davenport

KD is a resident in Oreland. KD has a professional background as a teacher and administrator in the School District of Philadelphia and Lower Merion School District. KD’s current role in Lower Merion School District also requires oversight of budget and policy, and close collaboration with the LMSD School Board. KD was a Democratic committee person in Philadelphia before moving to Springfield, and is an active volunteer with STDC, PA Dems, and Turn PA Blue.

Gerard Brett

Gerard is a resident of Wyndmoor. He has a professional background in Education and College Counseling at LaSalle College High School. He is an active member of the Pennsylvania and National Association for College Admission Counseling. He volunteers as a coach, chaperone, and mentor for students. He is an engaged neighbor and community member.

Joelle Kleinman: Tax Collector

Joelle is the current Tax Collector in Springfield Township and has served residents respectfully for the past three years. She has lowered fees for online tax payments and built a website from scratch with a focus on easy navigation and seamless user experience for taxpayers. She is a resident of Wyndmoor with a professional background in Real Estate.
